Trying to incorporate pure, unique flavours introduces another challenge, often becoming costly and difficult to perfect at home.
Frustrated by seeing shelves filled with overly sweet syrups loaded with artificial flavours and colours, a veteran Sydney bar professional set out to create a better solution—one that would allow both bartenders and home enthusiasts to craft flavourful cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks with ease, purity, and confidence.
Handy Syrups was founded by
Taka in early 2021, during the post COVID-19 era, with a mission to make high-quality drink flavouring simple and accessible.
With more than
13 years of experience behind some of Sydney’s top cocktail bars and restaurants, Taka brings a deep understanding of balance, flavour, and craftsmanship to every bottle.
His work—and our syrups—are inspired by the flavours of both:
- Australia — the place he proudly calls home
- Japan — his spiritual home, known for purity and flavour harmony
